Many hands make light work with our intergenerational gardening project.

9th Jun 2025
For the last few weeks the green-fingered pupils from our P3/4 class have been working very hard with some new friends from the Good Companions Club at St Andrew's Church of Ireland in Killyman. This was an intergenerational project to create a beautiful floral display at the entrance to our school for you all to enjoy on arrival. We planted up some gorgeous hanging baskets, crammed full of bright and colourful summer bedding plants on the first week. During our second session we set to work on some window boxes that now adorn the top of our fence at the soft play area and finally, during our last week, we used plants grown from seed by our P4 and ASC classes to fill the blue ceramic pots that sit at the front door to our school.

We made some good friends and each week we enjoyed a nice cup of tea and a wee treat outside in our lovely Garden to Grow in the glorious sunshine. The bees are now buzzing happily around each of our floral displays and we are so glad to enhance our biodiversity in such a colourful and welcoming way!

Well done P3/4 and our Good Companions!
