- P6/7 residential to Manchester/Blackpool
Day 1

After a very early morning start, we headed to Belfast and boarded the boat to take us to Cairnryan. We then started our long journey to Blackpool, stopping off in Gretna Green for a bite of lunch. The bus then journeyed onto Blackpool.
Upon arrival we went to Stanley Park and enjoyed some time in the play park before reaching our hotel around 5.30pm. After unpacking, we enjoyed a delicious dinner. We then walked along the promenade taking in the sights of the famous Blackpool Tower and its famous piers.
The children are all tucked up in bed, getting their beauty sleep for Alton Towers tomorrow. Everyone had a brilliant day and the sun shone from start to finish.

Day 2 - Alton Towers
After a good nights rest and a tasty and filling breakfast we left for Alton Towers. The children enjoyed the views as we travelled through the English countryside. Alton Towers was absolutely amazing for everyone - for the thrill seekers like Mr Matchett and to those with motion sickness like Miss Wilson - the rides were fast and furious and varied from ‘The Smiler’ to ‘The Gangsta Granny’.
Again the weather was great with the sun shining. I think we all definitely reached our 10,000 steps today! The shops were a big hit and the children enjoyed spending some of their pocket money today.
Following dinner we all enjoyed a walk along the Promenade and then had a sing-song underneath Blackpool Tower. Mrs Bloomer had them all in fine tune with actions included!
It has been a very enjoyable day and the children are all packed up and in bed ready for the homeward journey tomorrow.

Day 3 - Manchester City Football Stadium
Today we made our way to the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City Football Club after we had packed up and tidied our rooms. The hotel staff complimented our pupils on their behaviour and said they were brilliant.
We split up into 2 groups and enjoyed a tour of the stadium, we visited the pitch, dressing rooms, hospitality venues and of course the shop. This was a fun and exciting trip and the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Then it was back on the bus for the long journey back to Cairnryan to get the boat back to Belfast. We had a short stop in Greta for refreshments.
The children have been an absolute pleasure and have enjoyed everything we have done. They will definitely sleep well tonight and everyone is looking forward to their day off tomorrow.
