P4 have begun a new topic and are learning about WW2. We have started our activity based learning sessions and enjoying activities all linked to our topic. Our jigsaw has a farm scene, many evacuees spent time in the countryside and helped on the farm. At the knex table we are building a plane to help defend our country. We are also making our own card spitfire and have enjoyed colouring it in army camouflage colours. At the Lego table we are rebuilding our home after the blitz. We have been learning how to build strong walls with overlapping bricks and add a secure roof. A favourite table has been table top games, children in the 1940’s had no electronic games, but P4 have enjoyed dominos, snakes and ladders and noughts and crosses on the chalk board.
